a free 7-day game

Call Your Shot.

For seven days, take a moment to tune in and try one small experiment. Find the parking spot. Notice what you feel in a room. Let a lyric stop you mid-coffee. Keep a few notes when it makes sense, and see what happens. Your life is already happening. Let's get curious in it.

In 2007 the winning lottery numbers came to me, clear as day in my own mind, and I didn't play them. I'd like you to skip that part.

Free. You'll also hear from me about The Psychic Work. Unsubscribe anytime.

rule zero

The Bathroom Door Rule

Before you try an experiment, take 20 seconds to 2 minutes to chill and tune in. If closing the bathroom door buys you a minute, take it. The world can survive without your supervision while you pee.

When my nieces, nephews and son were yelling, I'd go meditate. My meditations usually took 20 minutes. When I came out, they were all changed, like I'd stepped into another dimension. When I got an email from the boss, I took a minute before responding, too. I give myself time to tune in.

Even for a parking spot, I take a moment and say, "Okay, parking lot angels, show me the open spot. Thanks." Then I go look for it. I'm not pulling out a journal in the parking lot. That's how you lose the spot to the Honda behind you. Your way of tuning in may look different from mine. Give yourself a moment to find it.

what you'll be doing

Seven days. One small thing a day.

Day 1

The parking spot

Before you head into the lot, take a moment to tune in and ask where the open spot is. Follow what you notice and go look. Please keep your eyes on the road. The parking lot angels aren't driving.

Day 2

Who's on your mind?

Take 20 seconds to 2 minutes to settle in. Does someone come to mind? Notice any name, image or feeling, and make a quick note. See whether anything connects later. Please don't text them six times to manufacture a hit.

Day 3

Who else is in here?

Take a quiet moment in a room. Do you feel a mood, a presence, or something you can't quite name? Note what you actually experienced before assigning it an identity. A feeling is worth exploring. It doesn't tell you who's there all by itself.

Day 4

The song in your head

Pay attention to the song that starts looping in your head out of nowhere, or the lyric that catches you on the radio. Don't go hunting for a sign. Just notice when it happens. What was on your mind right before those words showed up?

Day 5

Okay, what the hell was THAT?

Give a weird experience some room today: a presence in an empty room, a sudden knowing, a vivid dream. If nothing happens, revisit one you remember. Some things belong to the unseen, so you don't have to explain it away or prove it. Write down what you witnessed, what you felt, and what stayed with you.

Day 6

The miss (or the maybe)

Revisit something that didn't check out, or still hasn't. What can you actually confirm? What remains a guess? You can leave it unresolved. We aren't awarding imaginary points because you really wanted that one to land.

Day 7

Look at your week

Look back at your notes and the moments you remember. Include the hits, misses and experiences you still can't explain. Notice how information came to you and what helped you tune in. What would you like to explore again?

Misses count. Write those down too. Especially those.

the hit or miss wall

What did you catch today?

Drop your weird little moment here. The dead-on ones, the way-off ones, and the ones you argued yourself out of. Everybody's got all three.

Anonymous. One sentence. Keep it kind.

The wall is empty. Be the first weirdo. (Compliment.)

Yes, this is real. No, don't take yourself so seriously.
